Nintendo revealed the successor to the Switch Thursday morning in a video posted to YouTube.

The successor console, dubbed the Switch 2 as predicted by several online leakers, features a larger screen with Joy-Con controllers that snap into the sides of the console rather than slide in. The Joy-Con are also larger with pointier edges, with an all-black finish.

Several new features have been added to the Switch 2, including two mysterious buttons next to the triggers which appear to disengage the Joy-Con from the console itself. There is an additional unknown button below where the home button is on the right Joy-Con. The trailer also shows the Joy-Con being used in a manner similar to a computer mouse, although that segment of the video is ambiguous.

The trailer also showed off a frame of what appears to be a new Mario Kart game. The last new Mario Kart, Mario Kart 8, released over a decade ago, giving the Switch just a deluxe version of the game.

Nintendo announced a Direct will take place on April 2 to discuss launch titles for the system.
