A veteran leaker known as “Pyoro” has claimed the “Switch 2” logos circulating the internet are legitimate, and that “Switch 2” will be the final name of Project Ounce.

Pyoro had deleted their social media accounts after revealing their source to a Bloomberg reporter, however they resurfaced in September of 2024.

The name “Switch 2” would break Nintendo’s nearly four decade long holdout from using numerals in console names, even with console sequels such as the Super Nintendo, 3DS and Wii U.

For their part, Nintendo has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, and have not spoken about the Switch successor other than confirming that it has been in development.
