XBox CEO Phil Spencer said there is nothing prohibiting any game on XBox from coming over to the PlayStation, including exclusives such as Halo and Forza.
In an interview with IGN, Spencer said XBox is focusing on increasing their game sales figures, and to do that he has removed all “red lines” from marquee XBox exclusives that would prevent them from appearing on a Sony console.
Third party games have been skipping the XBox recently, to the point where Microsoft published an article practically asking developers why they were not making games for the platform.
Bringing an IP to a competitor is not a novel concept. In 2021, PlayStation brought MLB The Show to both the XBox and Nintendo Switch, ending the game’s 15-year-long PlayStation exclusivity. Just this year, XBox brought Rare’s hit online multiplayer pirate game Sea of Thieves to the PlayStation 5.
Spencer did not outline any specific plans to bring XBox games to the PlayStation. Sony has yet to make any comment on Spencer’s interview.
