Ubisoft stealthily released Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, a turn-based RPG which heavily relies on the blockchain for character acquisition.

The Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles marketplace sells playable characters at prices ranging from $5.97 for an Explosive Sentry to over $56 thousand for the Swift Zealot.

Ubisoft made no major announcements about the game upon its release, staying mum on their official Twitter account. The release trailer was left to the official Champions Tactics YouTube account, which gained just 16 thousand views.

Ubisoft had listed Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles as Adults Only, a rare ESRB rating which precludes the game from appearing on any PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo consoles due to company policies from all three manufacturers. However, the ESRB does not have a rating for the game available on their website.

This release comes at a turbulent time for the publisher, as the latest entry in their marquee franchise Assassin’s Creed got delayed to 2025, and their stock prices plummet.
