The hit 2024 Soulslike title Black Myth: Wukong has been added to GameStop’s internal systems for pre-order, a source has confirmed.

An individual close to GameStop, who asked to be anonymous as they are not authorized to discuss internal memos, confirmed that GameStop has assigned a SKU for the disc copy of Black Myth: Wukong, and it would soon be available for pre-order at the retailer.

Developer Game Science had previously confirmed they would be producing a physical copy of the game, although they did not specify when.

Black Myth: Wukong is considered a strong contender for Game of the Year this November, despite only holding an 81 on Metacritic. The indie game became wildly popular among fans for its unique take on Dark Souls mechanics and gripping narrative. Upon release, the game was only available digitally for the PC and the PlayStation 5.

Game Science originally claimed that their game was not on the XBox Series X | S due to optimization issues, however Forbes writer Paul Tassi reported that the real reason Black Myth: Wukong was not on the XBox was due to a console exclusivity deal with Sony. Both Game Science and Microsoft have expressed interest in bringing the game to XBox systems some time in the future.
