Ubisoft announced Wednesday that they were delaying Assassin’s Creed Shadows by three months until February 14, 2025.

Writing on behalf of the development team, senior Ubisoft developer Marc-Alexis Côte told fans that the team working on Assassin’s Creed Shadows needed “more time to polish and refine the experience” in an open letter posted to Twitter.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows was originally slated for a Nov 12 release and was accepting pre-orders since the summer. Those who have already pre-ordered the game are eligible for refunds, although it was unclear who would bear the financial responsibility of those refunds.

In addition to the announcement of the delay, Côte wrote that the Steam version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will now be releasing on the same day as the console version.

With this delay, 2024 will mark the first year since 2016 without the release of a new Assassin’s Creed.
