Less than a month after mass layoffs at Rocksteady, rumors have emerged from credible sources that the developer is working on a new Batman: Arkham game.

XBox Era co-founder Nick Baker tweeted Monday that the beleaguered studio may have financial support from Sony in making a new Batman game in the hopes it would be an exclusive for the PlayStation.

Baker did not give details on what his source was for the information, nor did he give an expected release date. Rocksteady has neither confirmed nor denied this report.

Rocksteady found themselves in financial trouble after their live service game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League flopped both critically and commercially. Fans and critics alike were confused as to why the game was live service instead of a single player experience.

Batman: Arkham Knight released in 2015 and is the most recent entry in the Arkham series. The game was well received and sports an 87 on Metacritic.
