The man who created Flappy Bird took to Twitter saying he had nothing to do with the planned rerelease of the once viral video game.
Dong Nguyen, a Vietnamese game developer who infamously pulled his creation Flappy Bird from digital storefronts after deeming it too addictive, denied any involvement in the project to infuse Flappy Bird with crypto in a new release of the game.
This statement contradicts the new developers’ claim that they were working with their “predecessors” to rerelease the popular mobile app. Evidently, Nguyen is unhappy with the thus far undiscovered cryptocurrency element of the new game.
A company called Gametech Holdings LLC acquired the rights to the Flappy Bird trademark after it was deemed abandoned after a decade. They recently announced plans to restore the game to mobile devices.
