Former Bend Studios creative director John Garvin took issue with the Days Gone protagonist Deacon making a cameo in Astro Bot.

Bend Studio shared an image Friday on Twitter of Deacon as an Astro Bot in his iconic biker jacket and backwards hat, sitting against a palm tree. The image was not an in-game capture but rather a drawing, although Deacon does make a cameo in the game.

Garvin, who was the chief creative director for Days Gone, expressed his displeasure over his character being “used to promote other games,” and said the studio did not do enough to protect their legacy.

When challenged by another user, Garvin clarified his disdain, saying that he was upset to see his character “reduced to a cartoon schill promoting some small game.”

Garvin has previously taken issue with Bend Studio for reducing the price of Days Gone later in the game’s life, as well as tabling plans for a sequel to the game.
